Sociopathic TikTokers Are Simping for a Guy Who Killed Two People

Cameron Herrin pled guilty to two counts of vehicular homicide in April for killing a mother and daughter with his car while engaging in a street race. Now 21-years-old, Herrin was 18 at the time of the crash and will serve up to 24 years in prison. Since the sentencing, Herrin has gained a creepy cult following on TikTok, Twitter, and Instagram. The TikTok hashtag #justiceforcameron has accumulated a whopping 26.4 million views while countless fan accounts continue to pop up and post videos of Herrin in the courtroom with gushy captions of support and broken heart emojis. One stan even created a change.org petition that has racked up almost 30,000 signatures.

What is going on? Even Herrin's mother has voiced that the obsession with her son is unhealthy. Though TikTok seems to be flooded with calls to #freecameronherrin, not everyone thinks he deserves a second chance. Other TikTokers dismayed by the simping believe that tweens are only indignant over his sentencing because he's 'cute.' Whatever the case, the following Herrin has gained seems too bizarre to be simply motivated by 'justice.' Are the simps really blinded by Herrin's looks so much that they're willing to ignore the fact that he killed a mother and her baby? If so, these people need to go outside and touch grass.
